About the AirStream
The AirStream tee is the newest product which is recently introduced by Intelliskin. Just in time for the summer. The AirStream tee is the newest in clinically verified clothing that claims to help you maintain a better posture by increasing your postural awareness. This latest version has similar features to the Foundation shirt I previously tested, but it has improved breathability while maintaining performance. This new functionality makes it perfect for vigorous exercise and a day at the workplace.
Is the new product as good as it claims? I’ve previously tested the Foundation Shirt 2.0, and it was amazing, so I couldn’t have been more delighted when asked by Intelliskin to review their latest design. Here’s what I learned about this shirt and my experience wearing it.
Let’s start by talking about the tee’s construction.
The material used in the AirStream is described as “CoolCue” by the manufacturer, which consists of 80% cooling nylon and 20% spandex.
The tag on the garment claims that it’s made in the United States from imported cloth.
The breathable design is the main feature that sets this product apart from similar Intelliskin options, such as the Essential and Foundation tees. The characteristics of each of these shirts are reasonably comparable, except for the use of a breathable power mesh, which distinguishes it from other products offered by the firm.
Considering its name, this shirt would be much cooler than the Foundation or Essential tee. The back, armpit, and sides are constructed of a flexible nylon power mesh fabric. The only aspect of the shirt that isn’t made of this fabric is the chest and stomach region.
Compare this to the Essentials, which has mesh over the shoulders and a little strip down the spine, or the Foundation shirt, which only uses mesh across the shoulders and upper back.
Intelliskin places its t-shirts into two categories based on their intended usage: Moderate Posturecue and Maximum Posturecue. The AirStream (and the Essential line) is classified as “Moderate,” and it’s intended for everyday usage. The Foundation line, on the other hand, takes a more forceful approach to instructing your muscles responsible for good posture.
You may select from three distinct designs with each – the Crew Tank, V-Tank, and Tee. Each has its own set of benefits.
How it works
“How do these shirts work?” is one of the most frequently asked questions. There was just one product available to cure poor posture in the past, and it was a regular posture brace. Although such braces are just as effective now as they were in the past, they can be somewhat restricting and unpleasant to wear when engaged in physical activities.
Several years ago, Dr. Tim Brown, a seasoned surfer and chiropractor began experimenting with apparel that utilized the Kinesio taping method. Kinesio tape, developed by Dr. Kenzo Kase in the 1970s, involves applying cloth tape strips to parts of the body. The tape provides support, reduces discomfort, and improves posture.
Dr. Brown took a compression-fitted garment and added what he calls “PostureCue Technology,” which is similar to Kinesio taping, into the design. The end result is a non-restrictive, comfortable garment that feels and wears like a compression fitted shirt but “cues” 20,000-80,000 nerve receptors to assist in realigning your posture. His products are praised by a variety of medical experts and sportspeople and have been confirmed in several medical trials.

Sizes and color
The AirStream is currently only available in black on black in 7 sizes: X-Small, Small, Medium, Large, X-Large, and XXX-Large. We’re sorry, ladies, but it doesn’t appear as though Intelliskin is currently selling this particular t-shirt for females.
A new sizing calculator appears on the company’s website, making it much easier to pick the appropriate size. The last time I ordered, I had to consult a weight/chest size chart to select the correct size. You may choose your chest, weight, and waist from the drop-down menu to get an estimate of the correct size.
When measuring the chest, be sure to go across the back, under the arms, and around to the front of the chest. Take a tape measure and wrap it around your body at the navel region to determine your waist size.
The current market price for the Airstream is $110 plus $5 shipping and handling, resulting in a total cost of $115. The Airstream is approximately $15 more expensive than the Essential or Foundation shirt, costing $95 plus $5 shipping.
I was ready to take a new challenge and try the AirStream after recently trying out the Foundation shirt.
My purchase came in well under a week after traveling almost 2,500 miles from Newport Beach, California, to the east coast.
It arrived neatly wrapped in a translucent gray bag, which was folded and in excellent condition.
After taking the shirt out of the packaging, I inspected its craftsmanship. It was well-constructed, it appeared. The addition of silicone bands at the bottom of the shirt and around each sleeve, which assists in keeping it in place, was one of the first modifications that I noticed. I also observed a change in the logo design printed on the shirt, which I found to be an improvement.
The majority of this shirt is constructed from the power mesh substance, as evident on first inspection. That’s all well and good, but I was also curious to see how the AirStream compares to its predecessors, the Essential and Foundation.
The temperature rose to 85° the next day, which gave me an excellent opportunity to put my new tee to the test. Unlike the Foundation shirt, which I used as an undershirt, I intended to wear this top by itself to see how well it cooled me off.
I started the day by carefully wrapping the shirt around my body and pulling down the waist and armbands to keep it in place. The comfy sensation was very apparent, and it was pretty soothing to the skin. I was surprised by the “PostureCue” impact’s power, which is rated as “moderate” by the manufacturer. I found the similar elastic tug on my shoulder that I noticed on the other Foundation shirt, which assisted me in keeping my shoulders back and posture straight. So far, it appeared to be functioning correctly.
I began with some stretches, then a 5-mile run on hilly terrain. I was aware of my height increasing as the shirt reminded me to keep a good posture. Naturally, as the mid-day temperature rose to around 85°, I began sweating heavily within a few minutes as the intense sun beat down on the black coating. The light mesh fabric gave excellent cooling throughout my run. The next best thing to running shirtless, according to many people, was the cooling effect. Of course, no one wants to see that.
Then I removed the shirt and placed it in the dryer on a gentle cycle to wash and hang it up to dry.
I put the shirt back on and went out to practice my golf swing a few days later. I proudly put on my new shirt and went to the driving range in hopes of improving my swing.
I went to the range and hit a giant bucket of balls, which I felt had improved my swing’s fluidity. Because of this, my consistency and accuracy improved.
Unfortunately, after just one trip to the range with my new shirt, I could not come to any conclusions about my swing’s improvement. Perhaps I was having a fantastic day? This sounds like a great excuse to come back for more testing!
I utilized the AirStream as an undershirt for five days at work to find out how well it worked. I was confident that Intelliskin’s newest product, similar to the Foundation, would give me excellent outcomes.
When it came to office performance, the AirStream did not let me down. The PostureCue’s effects were still apparent while wearing my button-up shirt and kept me sitting upright all day, leaving my shoulders and back comfortable at the end of each day. The Foundation’s posture advantages are comparable to those of this T-shirt, despite the brand’s claims of being “moderate.”
Overall thoughts and recommendation
With the same qualities as before, Intelliskin once again delivers with a high-performance garment that keeps you upright and cool even in hot weather and an intense workout.
The AirStream is more comfortable and breathable than previous models owing to its slightly tighter fit. The ball is an excellent guide to keep you “standing tall” whether you’re going for a run, swinging a golf club, or sitting at work.
The waist and armbands keep the shirt from riding up your back and arms while you work out.
Overall, the AirStream is an excellent addition to the Intelliskin family. It’s a product that I’d suggest to anybody who wishes to maintain their posture while working out or having an evening out.
However, if you have no plans to use the AirStream for physical activity, I’d advise opting for the Basic or Foundation shirt instead of the Essential or Foundation top.
The shirt itself was wonderful, but because it was only available in black, the white color would not attract much heat from the sun. At the moment, this shirt is only available in black.
If you’re having trouble selecting between the three shirts available from the firm, these suggestions should assist.
Compare AirStream vs. Foundation vs. Essential shirts
The Foundation and Essential were first. Intelliskin has now included the AirStream. If you’re like me, you may be perplexed about which option to pick. After all, they all appear to be quite similar on the surface – or aren’t they?
The following are the features that all three shirts have in common, according to the manufacturer:
- Sports mesh panels
- Posture specific core compression
- Ergonomic seams and stretch panels
- UV 50+ sun protection
- Four-way stretch
- Anti Odor
- Machine Washable
So, what distinguishes this shirt from the Essential and Foundation styles? I created the graph below to help customers figure out which product to pick.
|Posture Cue Level||Moderate||Moderate||Maximum|
|Fabric type||CoolCue||Cool Jade||Lycra Sports|
|Unique feature||Nylon Power Mesh back and underarm panels / Silicone bottom band / pool safe||Made from recycled Jade stone reduces skin temperature 3-4° F||Maximum performance and therapeutic benefit|
|Duration of use||All day||All day||Intermittent/ as needed|
When making a selection, the first thing you should consider is: What are the goals I hope this shirt will achieve for me? If you’re looking for a light-use, regular shirt, the AirStream or Essential would be excellent options. The Foundation shirt is the greatest choice if maximum performance is essential to you.
Consider this question while comparing the AirStream and Essential: under what circumstances will this shirt be worn the most? The Essential would be an intelligent selection as an undershirt at work. The AirStream would be ideal for you if you work out or live in a warmer environment.
